Passikuda Beach

Pasikuda beach, recognized as one of safest beaches in Sri Lanka is very famous among the travelers who travel around the Sri Lankan tourism areas. It is located in the eastern coast of Sri Lanka. The nearest city is Batticloa. Throughout the year the beach is fully crowded with travelers from all around the world. The sea is visualized with crystal clear water. Foreign travelers never miss this beach as it is known as an ideal destin ation for a sea bath. Visitors are walking kilo meters in to the sea because the sea is not compared to other beaches of Sri lanka. They play, scream and entertain themselves in the beach. Even small children can dive in the sea. Some try to play with a surf board. During the seasons, many water surfing sports men and women come to frolic with the waves in Pasikudha Beach. Even Sri Lankan players are trying to compete with them. Especially Pasikudha beach is appropriate for the beginners in water surfing. Surfing the waves, pulling off cool techniques, jumping high off the wave and spinning in the air are attractive. They have been trained to the surfing game professionally. Even an open tournament is held at the Pasikuda beach annually for the surfers.

Trincomalee Beach

Trincomalee is the gateway to a few of the finest beaches in the eastern coast of Sri Lanka, namely Uppuveli and Nilaveli located 6km and 16km away from the town area. The beaches with knee deep shallow waters that runs hundreds of feet into the sea, afford ample opportunities for surfing, scuba diving, snorkelling, fishing and Whale Watching. The seven hot springs at Kanniya are just 8km away and known for their therapeutic properties. A high wall bounds the rectangular enclosure which includes all seven springs. The water is warm while the temperature of each spring varies from one another.

Pigeon Island

Just off Nilaveli, lies Pigeon Island, a little rocky islet where the blue Rock pigeons breed, and whose waters around are a paradise of colourful fishes. Popular with tourists, the island can be reached by boats hired from any of the local area hotels or from the beach.

Batticaloa Beach

It is the famous singing fish and is at exit point of a picturesque lagoon made up of a series of connected lagoons filled with mangrove swamps that attracts tourists to this serene beach. Batticaloa is famous for its Singing Fish and picturesque lagoon. it is also said to be the land of the singing fish. On full moon nights a faint but distinct musical sound rises from the lagoon waters. This is attributed to a noise emanated by a kind of fish found in the lagoon. A Dutch Fort near the lagoon is another tourist attraction and the whole area around bears signs of European occupation, by the Portuguese, Dutch and the British. Batticaloa has coral rich seas along the east coast. Diving and snorkeling is possible in the nearby seas. Late March to end of October is a good season for these activities along the eastern coast .

Beruwala

This small town situated 56 kms south of Colombo possess a stretch of coastline dotted with palm trees, white sandy tracts and clean blue waters nearby. The bay remains ideal for swimming almost throughout the year and there is heavy tourism development centred around Beruwala. Here is a very good example of how a small sleepy fishing village with only a bay nearby is transformed into a grand holiday resort with numerous luxury hotels and other amenities inviting the tourist.

Kalpitiya

Blessed with a wealth of stunning beaches, Sri Lanka is world-renowned as a paradise island for tourists. One of the best locations to watch dolphins and whales swimming around is the Kalpitiya beach. That affords the opportunity to view large pods of Dolphins, often numbers running to hundreds, is becoming a celebrated location in Sri Lanka of the lovers of Spinner Dolphins. Kalpitiya, for its presence of Sperm Whales and an occasional Blue Whale alone is a world class attraction of marine life. Whales are regularly seen around the Kalpitiya Peninsula. The lagoon is also a popular tourist attraction with a varied eco-system. Thousands of tourists and locals are seen in Kalpitiya to experience an unforgettable beach holiday in Sri Lanka. Bar Reef, the largest coral reef (307 square km) in Sri Lanka, which can be reached by an hour's boat trip from Kalpitiya, serves as the ideal sea for keen scuba divers and snorkelers. The beautiful reef, exceedingly rich in bio-diversity, is home to an incredible variety of tropical fish as well as offering sightings of manta rays, reef sharks and the occasional sea turtle.

Hikkaduwa Beach

Hikkaduwa, one of the largest & most influential tourism sites of Sri lanka has gained a tremendous stride with the rise of the tourism sector. Hikkaduwa is more famous for it's Coral sanctuary. This natural, multi colored coral reef has been well conserved; many species of fish and sea turtles attract many people from all over the world. After a short distance southwards from this impressive coral reef is palled. The beach provides best sea waves for surfing during its dry season. In addition travelers interested in surfing and diving prefers Hikkaduwa most.

Bentota Beach

While stimulating among best places for water sports, you will find the most wanted subjects in the world's famous tourist paradise Bentota. Number of great sports activities can be played at the Bentota Sea. Bentota is the exceptional beach for surfers and jet skiers. Water skis, surf boards, jet skis and speed boats are available at many sports centres around Bentota beach. Gradually youth are mostly involved with stunning sports. Whether you are not interested, you will be attracted soon as you can see the others. Beginners can be trained under the supervision of professional trainees of water sports.

Jaffna

Jaffna is both a sea port as well as an important city of the island. The rich ancient culture of Jaffna is very interesting while the remnants of the buildings belonging to the Hindu period and of the colonial period denote the living history of Jaffna. Other than the spectacular beaches in Jaffna, there are a number of notable attractions that should be mentioned. The old Dutch forts, the tidal well, the Keerimalai Baths, Chundikulam Sanctuary and a number of Hindu temples are to mention a few. The Jaffna beaches also draw quite a number of tourists and they too love to bask under the sun in these wonderful sandy coastal areas. The Casuarina Beach which is at Karainagar is the most famous in Jaffna while there are good beaches also at Santhakulam and Thondaimannar.

Arugambay

Located opposite the district of Colombo along the East coast of the island, this is a gorgeous world renowned bay which is perfect for pro surfing. Arugambay is regarded as one of five best places in the world for wind surfing. The bay offers numerous possibilities for water sports and underwater photography. The many shipwrecks off the coast offer a tempting challenge to the divers.

Unawatuna Beach

This beach is a paradise for all those who yearn to enjoy the silence of the sea and dive deep into the blue waters of the ocean. There is a reef protecting the beach, which makes it perfectly a safe haven for bathing. Other major attractions of this southern beach include shallow waters for swimming, and diving. Within its reach there is an accessible, reasonably well-preserved coral reef that serves as the base for snorkelling. For all those who fancy scuba diving, this tropical bay in the south will definitely catch your fancy since for the scuba divers; there are several wreck dives only 20-30 minutes away from the beach by boat. Thus it is the most favoured beach for all those looking for some exciting water sport activity like swimming, scuba diving or snorkelling.

Negombo City Tour

Negombo is a modest beach town located is a city on the west coast of Sri Lanka, north of the capital, Colombo. It's just 10km from Bandaranaike International Airport. With a stash of decent hotels and restaurants to suit all pockets, a friendly local community, an interesting old quarter and a reasonable (though somewhat polluted) beach, Negombo is a much easier place to find your Sri Lankan feet than Colombo. Near the waterfront, the remains of the 17th-century Dutch Fort now house a prison. Negombo Lagoon, lined with fishermens huts, feeds into the Dutch-era Hamilton Canal. The canal leads south to Colombo. Neoclassical St. Marys Church, completed in the 1920s, features a ceiling decorated with vivid religious paintings.

Mirissa Beach

Mirissa, a small town on Sri Lanka s south coast, it is one of the best places in the world to spot blue whales. Mirissa's sandy beaches gives life to your fantasies of a tropical heaven, the secluded crescent shaped beach is like a reclusive hidden Island that is a hideaway for many. The town's sunsets and sunrises are said to be one of the finest ever, the peace that surrounds people spending time in the hotels set aback from the actual beach is quiet unmeasured. The gentle waves of the ocean crashing and building into a crescendo, coconuts falling and birds chirping. Mirissa is a tourist heaven and must not be missed
